procrastinator Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 1083 Best Total: 12m 56s | Posted - 2006.09.11 07:24:57 Nice work, Helge.
You might be waiting a while for a club 49, though. I've got there a couple of times, but I generally end up dragging if I try to click that fast - my recent improvement has been in large part due to consciously _slowing_down_ my clicking.
Sigh. Maybe I really will end up changing my browser to stay competitive. And at that kind of speed the handful of seconds lost to network latency and javascript start-up become significant, too.
It's funny how these psychological barriers seem to work as we pass milestones: The record score was in the 1:10s for so long before skipping straight to :56, and I think five of us have posted sub-1:10 times in the month or so since. Now it's :48 and Helge's personal record has skipped straight from minute-plus to sub-:50. And the weekend record was 5:30 for a long time before suddenly going 5:12->4:41->3:45 over about a month, with three of us breaking 5:00 in that period.

Helge, put some ice on those mouse-fingers! |
procrastinator Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 1083 Best Total: 12m 56s | Posted - 2006.10.24 10:27:31 And today we welcome Jankonyex. Congrats. Hopefully tonight I can finally get online to challenge some of your great times of the last week, but I still won't have _my_ computer to work on. |
mattzerah Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 871 Best Total: 37m 16s | Posted - 2007.01.08 01:11:46 Wooo Hooo - finally got there - although i had to get to second page to find the topic. Perhaps its not such a feat anymore, but I got to 55 min, so maybe club 49 is just around the corner? We'll see, i'm just happy to get under the hour mark

Actually, the 59 minutes topic is still on the first page. This one is about 59 seconds - with an intentionally misleading title. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure Brian has made it too now, amongst all his other recent achievements. But still noone else I think. |
astrokath Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 3258 Best Total: 13m 42s | Posted - 2007.01.08 10:22:13 Well, I still havn't. One of these days... perhaps when I'm not using a sticky mouse. |
Oyvind Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 6766 Best Total: 12m 45s | Posted - 2007.01.11 22:08:19 Yes! I finally made it! |
astrokath Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 3258 Best Total: 13m 42s | Posted - 2007.01.22 08:46:42 Me too! |
Helge Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 3548 Best Total: 11m 26s | Posted - 2007.01.22 09:52:53 Great! Congratulations. Btw, this topic should have been called Club 0.59... |
nka Kwon-Tom Addict Puzzles: 497 Best Total: 21m 54s | Posted - 2007.01.23 03:04:42 I think I may have got under a minute for a monday puzzle, but I can't quite remember. Foilman is there anyway to check this? I've done so many of the archives I'm not sure what would have been included in the actual weekly stats. |
foilman Kwon-Tom Admin Puzzles: 3614 Best Total: 24m 6s | Posted - 2007.01.23 08:52:42 It appears your fastest time to solve a puzzle is 87 seconds... so you're not there yet! |
astrokath Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 3258 Best Total: 13m 42s | Posted - 2007.01.23 09:07:40 Archives don't count. Annoyingly. Otherwise I'd have got here a lot sooner! |
foilman Kwon-Tom Admin Puzzles: 3614 Best Total: 24m 6s | Posted - 2007.01.23 09:12:22 You're right there, if archives counted I'd easily be in club 59 because you can just print off the solution and copy it in. Actually, even doing that I'm not sure I'd make 59 seconds!!!! |
astrokath Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 3258 Best Total: 13m 42s | Posted - 2007.01.23 09:22:10 Yeah, but doing that is nothing to be proud of! Getting a good time on an ancient puzzle without cheating - that is.
I've been getting better times this week by dropping my crutches. Seems to speed things up a lot.

foilman Kwon-Tom Admin Puzzles: 3614 Best Total: 24m 6s | Posted - 2007.01.23 09:28:14 I might try that too. Dropping the crosses is slow at the moment, as I don't recognise any of the patterns I've learnt, but I figure I'll soon pick them up again. I've done a couple of Beasts with no crosses, so I know I can do it! |

That's more than I've ever managed! [I always end up falling to the temptation of marking them, when I'm looking for the next option...] Bravo! |
procrastinator Kwon-Tom Obsessive Puzzles: 1083 Best Total: 12m 56s | Posted - 2007.01.24 06:46:47 And now tzukanion makes 7. It's getting crowded.

It was originally intended to confuse, but I guess that purpose has been served and I've been wanting to do this since I saw it was possible, so... |

I seem to have an Xes mode and a no-Xes mode, and once I'm forced to switch to the former, I forget to revert to the latter. Does anyone else have this problem, or better yet a solution? |
