My times on the variants were quite slow at first, but I'm starting to get a feel for them! That "hide background line when a cross is placed" is helping me see things better. I don't have a good mental model of these layouts yet.

Yeah these are a whole different ballgame. Is there an option to hide lines vs putting an x over them?

Oooh, I hadn't seen that option until now. I've made several time-consuming mistakes on these variants puzzles so far, and generally struggled with maintaining clarity on big puzzles. I expect that option will help, at least to some extent.

I kind of wish it would remove the X and the line, but overall I'm getting a little faster at these without that setting. Either that or the recent puzzles have been a little easier.
