Yay!

I second Darklady saying that the option to "hide background line when a cross is placed" is fantastic.

That's a big jump, congrats!

I spent almost as long on Saturday's puzzle alone... for anyone trying to go fast, I recommend not making mistakes that force you to have to reset the whole puzzle. Twice. (I think it's sharp acute angles in particular that I've been fumbling.)

Thanks!

Yeah, I've also made painful mistakes in several Variants puzzles, and the bigger weekend puzzles are obviously even more error-prone. Something about these non-square grids is really confusing.

On a related note, since you mentioned having to reset after a mistake, I have a tip for this which sometimes helps save time: When I discover late that I've made a mistake, I don't reset. Instead, I keep the browser tab with the partial solution open, then open the puzzle anew in another tab. (Incidentally, the timer is unaffected by this; I assume it runs on the server or something.)

Then I solve the puzzle again in the new tab while occasionally switching to the old tab to compare (shortcuts in Chrome or Firefox: CTRL+Tab and CTRL+Shift+Tab). I focus on solving the area where I'd originally made a mistake.

Sometimes this allows me to catch my mistake relatively quickly (say, after solving <50% of the puzzle again), in which case I can repair my more complete solution in the original tab, instead of having to solve 100% of the puzzle again.

Yeah that's helpful. Lately with these large puzzles I get to the last part of connecting both ends and it doesn't work out, and it's way too difficult to see where I went wrong.

I wasn't even thinking I might be on track to get club 39 finally.
With a Friday time which is 6 minutes off my fastest Friday time... Maybe club 29 isn't as far out of my reach as I thought...
