I've been getting much quicker, and have been on the verge of joining the 39 club quite recently. 3 mins or so on weekday puzzles, and 10 or so at w/ends.
But boy what a stinker Sunday's was! Those who solved it in under 10 minutes must have made some very lucky choices!

...unless of course I've been missing out on some magic bullet formula for trivialising these puzzles? I have my own opinions that are probably best kept to myself... The top guns here should really register for the USPC in June. (regardless of your country) Isn't that right Byron

USPC?  I'm guessing you don't mean US Pony Clubs...

Sunday's puzzle... I used a lot of highlander.

pre-runner of the WPC world puzzle competition.

The puzzles are pretty hard from what I've seen they take something like slitherlink and add 3 twists to make it new and different to anything you've seen before - and still expect you to solve a weekend hard in <10minutes

I totally agree.
When I can normally finish a whole week's worth of puzzles in 40 minutes, Sundays took me 42!

And as far as the USPC (I assume you mean the US puzzle championships), everyone here should take a look. It will drive your logic circuits CRAZY!

Glad it wasn't just me then...

The registration page for the 2008 USPC (US Puzzle Championships) is at:
http://wpc.puzzles.com/register/index.htm
(open to everyone)

If you choose the 'History' link at the top of that page, you can download and test yourself with past papers. Time and score yourself diligently for an accurate comparison of how you WOULD have done. Of course, on the day, with the clock ticking, it's a different ball game, and concentration vanishes!

The WPC (World Puzzle Championships) are a lot of fun...

Yeah, the USPC is fun for a few hours, but it doesn't compare to a WPC. Luckily i don't have to stress about the USPC and can just do it for fun.
