Well, I'm not there yet, but I suppose that someone (like Jankonyex) will break the limit soon.

Hereby, this thread is opened.

Bound to happen. Wish I had time to practice with the new applet.

Are we halfway there? The champions' total now stands at 9:49. I'm amazed we got here.

MondSemmel has been destroying these puzzles lately, and probably has a shot of getting into club 9 him/herself today--no pressure!

(foilman--it seems you should add Geoff to the "achieved by" list?)

Great job! I'm a bit late with congratulating - sorry about that. I just hoped the Friday puzzle would be an easy one - I was so very close, too . I screwed up on the Sunday puzzle  and this Friday's puzzle was probably more difficult than some of the weekend puzzles...
I'll continue to try for club 9, but there probably won't be another similar week to this one - or at least not anytime soon.

What amazes me is the sheer speed required to complete these puzzles in the times shown by Brian, Jankonyex, MondSemmel, Helge, Procrastinator and their ilk. Monday's puzzle was easy, but still required 98 lines which, with Brian's time of 36 seconds, is 2.7 clicks per second - including mouse movement and thinking time (if any!)
What's the secret to such slick mousework?

You can draw lines in the Flash solver. It's probably impossible to break the current records in the Java solver, no matter how fast you are. Theoretically, solving any Slither Link puzzle requires only one click with the Flash solver (click for a line, hold button, draw puzzle in one go - not that I or anybody else does that) and one more for the "Done It!" button. In reality, it's a lot more, of course, but you can still save tons of clicks with this.
For example, some of the most obvious cases are cases like this one:

In cases like these, you can sometimes get nine lines or more without clicking more than once. In comparison to a year ago, I know I've become better at solving puzzles, too, but the main difference in speed is probably this feature (now if there only was a way to draw crosses with the right mouse button^^...), although it isn't that easy to use (you often unintentionally draw lines where you don't want them). Practice helps (a lot).

Since I missed my last try at club 9 about two months ago by 7 seconds, I've been spending insane amounts of time trying to finally, finally get here. Now that I have, I think I can finally tone it down a notch^^ - trying to beat those last 6 seconds became increasingly obsessive, and a single difficult puzzle or mistake in the weekly challenge were enough to render any efforts in the past week futile. But I've finally reached it ...

Congrats...I wouldn't let up though until after tomorrow.  You get best time tomorrow and you could set best daily champions all by yourself. =P

I've been wondering for a while, but is there any interest for slither link/kwontomloop strategies/videos/a wiki? I think there are tons of very skilled puzzle solvers on this website, some of whom might be happy to contribute to something like that?
We obviously have some things like a thread about highlander and a thread containing various patterns, but the information is not particularly concentrated in one point.
Besides, I'd really like to have some kind of easy way to introduce more people to the puzzles on this site without them turning back after the first Monday puzzle, claiming it's too difficult for them to ever solve it...

I for one would love to see new stategies to solve these even faster. Most of the strategy stuff I read in the threads are a bit confusing to me for some reason. I guess I'm just not sure how to read the puzzle setup correctly with the ?'s and such.

If I didn't procrastinate like crazy (always doing things like solving puzzles instead of doing something productive, e.g. reading one of the now ~30 books I have yet to read in my room), I would never have gotten this fast at these puzzles...
