I've made a few changes behind the scenes on the code for the Variations puzzles; I'm hoping it won't break anything, but I'm only able to test a few different browser types so if anyone notices anything obviously broken let me know here.

A lot of ancient browsers are no longer supported, but as no-one here has used one of them in the past month that should be fine I think.

With Firefox everything works as before. With IE standard puzzles are not loaded, but as other browsers work, not an issue. And thank you for all the work keeping up the site

I just got a "Solution isn't valid, do you want to try again Yes/No?" error on Chrome 116.0.5845.188, could this have something to do with it?
(could have sworn I took a screenshot.) Also triple-checked my solution, and it's not the normal "It's not done yet ..." error I get when it's actually wrong.

Edit: attaching images is also not working for me. Haven't tried it before, so I don't know if it is new.

Edit edit: The "Solution not valid" error only occurs on today's current puzzle 2023/10/4.

I also got a invalid solution error when submitting, on Firefox 118.0.1. I switched a couple lines to a different solution (?!) and it let me submit. I don't know if you also changed the puzzle generation code but today's puzzle (Wednesday, Oct 4) seems to have two solutions, with one being officially correct and the other not tripping the error checker.

Yeah, I got the same "solution not valid" error today. Apparently the puzzle has a second solution which the site does not acknowledge during puzzle submission.
