I was thinking about the adjacent 3's rule today during a meeting (I'm not sure what that says about me... let's just say the meeting was _REALLY_ boring). Anyways, there's an exception to that rule. Consider a playing field of 3 squares wide, 2 squares high, and the middle column contains 3 over 3. The only solution is a box around the 3's.
Just thought it was interesting.  Wonder if any of the other rules have small-puzzle exceptions like that.
Oh, and also, the number 4 should be available to put in a square for that really difficult 1x1 puzzle... |
