grr this is the second time this has happaned! I go to this website, do the puzzle...then press done....and it says it could not contact the server. This happens for about an hour. Nothing to see here, just me moaning  |

Mmmm, this also happened to me recently when my internet connection died whilst I was in the middle of doing the puzzle. The painful result is that when you press back afterwards, the solution is lost and you have to do the puzzle again.
I see that the current method of submission uses a form POST. I wonder if it would be possible to submit the solution via a javascipt call instead of a form submission? Then, potentially, a "submit failure" message could be shown without losing the solution? |

If, when that happens, you just wait and hit reload on the submission page again in a few minutes (like once the server comes back or your internet connection comes back), then your browser will resubmit the completed puzzle.
I think, even after going back, if you were to hit forward again, it would try to resubmit what you had completed.
Just something to try next time it happens. |

I think there was a major power outage at the place hosting this site last night, so that would explain what happened. As drnull says, if you get a "timed out" page, you can just hit refresh or reload and it should (when the site's back) resubmit your solution. Of course, your time might be a bit rubbish... but unfortunately there's not much you can do about that. |

Yeah i hit the refresh thing quite a few times, but it took an hour before it worked again. Ill just wait for a week till my time gets pushed into the past:) |

I had the same problem Sunday evening. I feared the lost of the solution, so I took a screenshot. Then I tried it for a long time. But it didn't work till I had to go to bed.  |
