Further to the "My method" post, I've just had a go on the German site and lo and behold, their method of using faint lines to fill the grid and blanks to show where lines can't go, is exactly what I'm talking about. The link is http://janko.at/Raetsel/Schlangenlinie/index.htm.
Coincidentally I'm half German, zo perhaps ve haf ze same vays ov zinking. Or maybe it's an engineer's thing, spooky!!!!!!!! |

I like it!! Thanks for the link. It's an interesting way of handling it, not using crosses at all, and seems to work quite well. I might look into adding something similar as an optional way to solve puzzles here, in a similar way to how shading is turned on and off. |

This site also has options to draw lines in different colours... sort of like a way to experiment without using fix position. It's quite fun... thanks for posting this site, (though I must admit that my work may be on the back burner right now.. thanks to these puzzles...) |
