Fix position, not noticing that you've put 3 round a 2, submit - restarting cause you can't do the wrong easily ... and can't remember what you had fixed.

Yeah, this was definitely one to do after the morning coffee... Certainly the 1.12 barrier should be within reach of the fleet-of-finger. |

If you used FP on this one you definitely missed something. There aren't even any of the rarer patterns that you might overlook, and the only non-pattern reasoning is a fairly simple, very obvious loop.
The soccer was over by 1AM in Perth, but unfortunately we stayed out all night partying/drowning our sorrows and the puzzle was already up when I finally staggered home at 8AM. I should at the very least have had a morning coffee before attempting it, but a good night's sleep and time to sober up would have been even better.
But I think noone was destined to get a good time today, because it would have meant a BECT without our good luck charm Helge, something which hasn't happened since I started puzzling. Funny, I think there've been far fewer weeks when astrokath doesn't win a day than Helge, but this is the second time we've broken the record without her recently. |

I agree. It was easy..... except I filled in the last lines without paying attention that I only put one line around a two. I hit done and then had to figure out what I screwed up. |

That happens to me sometimes. Most of the time I ended up with 2 loops and spent five minutes trying to fix it.

That's what happened to me on friday's puzzle. I took 44 minutes. at least fifteen of those were spent fixing my mistake. |

We're now closer to 20 mins than we are to the old mark. Maybe we'll just keep halving the gap and astradamus will be right, but I think the signs are good: a new record weekend time for the second time in three weeks, and we wouldn't have beaten the previous record at all without tzukanion's contribution, so our depth is improving too.
It's just a shame about Sunday's atrocity... |
