Hello Foilman,

What about adding buttons to "Check For Errors" and (possibly) "Show Errors" ? They'd obviously only be active on non-competitive puzzles (so week-old+ archived puzzles, and all Beasts).
I know they're 'cheating', but purists could choose not to use them, while habitual mistake-makers (like me !) would have to waste less time (... especially on Beasts) before finding out I've messed up somewhere.

When you click "done" and the puzzle hasn't been solved, you do get the "why not?" button (after 10 seconds) which gives you a hint - is this enough..? I know you still have to determine which clue it's talking about, so maybe another 10 second timer with a "show me" button might help?

I was thinking more about checks while a (non-competitive) puzzle's in-progress. I just make too many mistakes on monthly Beasts !

I see what you mean... that would be a tricky one to implement, as the solution is only stored server-side; your browser only knows when a solution is correct, not what it should be beforehand. It would need some major changes - I won't rule it out, but will have to think about it!
